The Maths Clinic - an introduction

The Maths Clinic is more than a tutoring service; it is a place to come for help with mathematical problems, to watch videos about mathematical topics, to get help for teaching maths and a place to reflect on maths in education and in society.


It makes me feel old to write it, but schools and teaching isn't what it was when I started. That was 'only' eleven years ago. There are many reasons for this; one of the purposes of this site is to discuss and to face this.


Maths, though, is still maths. And I still love it and want to impart to all, if not a 'love', then an understanding and appreciation of the ideas and processes that come under its umbrella.
